Tablescapes

What is a Tablescape?

We're glad you asked!  Simply put, its the coordinated display of accents, accessories, and functional pieces on a table.  Similar to landscaping, where you give consideration to both the form and function when placing ornamental features, plants, shrubs, lighting and other items, with tablescaping you must consider not just the look but the function.  You wouldn't want to put that plant that needs 12 hours of sun under a shade tree, right? Just like you wouldn't want to place candles where a guest may need to reach to get to their carafe of water.

Yep, You already do it!

You most likely tablescape in one form or another every time you set a table or have a party.  Now we've just put a word to it!  Don't get us wrong though, there is a bit of an art form to it. For Example, knowing how people tend to move when entering a room helps ensure that your entrance display is getting the proper exposure, (we call that traffic flow), or what colors work together to attract the attention of a guest's eye without clashing with the overall color scheme.

Applications

Table Settings

Especially with a events, it's important to not only ensure that you accommodate the needs of the guests (Utensils, Glasses, Etc), but coordinate colors and styles.

Entrance Tables

Everyone wants that wow factor at their Event, but if guests are searching for hard to find place cards, will they miss signing your guest book?  Make sure to take extra care when tablescaping here, first impressions matter!

Dessert Displays

Coordinating the variety of treats, while maintaining consistency in color and style, and balancing accessibility and location all play a roll in executing a beautifully functional display.

Gift Tables

Many events require a gift table, though we find more and more often that these consist of card boxes or similar items that serve as receptacles for cards than as open spaces for wrapped boxes.
